Wendy Pope is an incredible Bible teacher, with four traditionally published books, multiple online Bible studies, an annual conference, and more. She has also been our client and friend for over a decade, and we have had the privilege of supporting each book launch, walking alongside her through the birth of her Word Up Ministries nonprofit, and creating multiple website redesigns for her over the years. So when Wendy asked for our help publishing her new Bible study, The 320 Life, of course we were honored and thrilled to be a part of this ministry milestone for her too.
About This Recent Project
Book Edits, Cover Design, Formatting, & Typesetting
Wendy worked with long-time editor and friend Samantha Evilsizer of Turned, Inc. for the study’s developmental editing, so our editorial team was able to jump right in with copy and line edits and then a the final proofread when the design was finished. Randi focused on consistency for grammar, tense, Scripture quotes, and lesson structure, polishing Wendy’s words and work of heart.
For the cover design, Wendy wanted something very similar to her newer personal ministry brand and website design. Using her brand board as a guide, and incorporating the hydrangeas Wendy requested, Nelly created several beautifully creative cover designs for her to choose from. With only a couple of small revisions to the selected design, we moved on to the inviting interior. Each section heading has a special touch or design element that feels warm and personal, and each journal page and listening guide leaves plenty of room for the reader to write while still feeling personalized and intentional as well. An added touch with The 320 Life: The Life You Always Wanted But Wondered How to Have is the QR code in the introduction that leads readers to a series of exclusive teaching videos with Wendy, as she walks readers through each of the four weeks of study in the book.
Publishing & Optimization
The 320 Life was formatted for both IngramSpark and Amazon KDP, in print only, to expand the opportunities for distribution and to allow for preorders. As part of our Market Refined Publishing imprint, we managed the publishing process on both platforms, purchased all necessary ISBNs, and registered the new release with the Library of Congress.
Sara performed our usual metadata keyword and category research to increase the searchability and visibility for Wendy’s book, and she optimized the book’s back cover copy and product description and the author’s bio for Amazon Author Central. As part of a very detailed marketing strategy for Wendy and The 320 Life, Sara also created marketing copy for Carol to use on the book’s sales page, copy for social media promotions and ads, and templates for email campaigns. Debi and Randi rounded out our support with a digital assets package that included pull quotes for promotion, shareable graphics, social media cover images, and a content calendar for Wendy to repurpose as needed.
We were so proud to see The 320 Life stay at #1 for Amazon’s Hot New Releases for several days prior to its release and then rank again in the top 5 on release day this week! You definitely don’t want to miss this study!
What Wendy had to say…
“Y’all were such a BIG part of this. I love it too! It’s the Bible study I always wanted to write. Thank you for helping me bring it into the world. I truly appreciate your support, encouragement, calming nature, and attention to detail.”
