Meet MRM: Christa Hutchins – Project Manager & Goal Strategist

Hi. I’m Christa: Project Manager, Strategy and Accountability Coach, Encourager.

I’m a doer at heart and love to do all the things. Whether it’s leading a team of engineers designing a world-scale chemical plant, or checking in kids to Sunday morning life group, you’ll often find me on the go.

My husband and I have two grown children who are married and successfully adulting. My two grandchildren are the light of my life.

I have a special heart for women who are following their God-dreams while working a full-time job. Ditching the job is not always God’s plan . . . it certainly hasn’t been His plan for me. But that doesn’t mean He’s not still using my unique gifts and talents to serve Him.

Her Specialties

I love to take vague, messy things and put structure around them. I’m great at building systems and processes, and then training other people how to use them. I love to make complicated things simple. I love the a-ha moment with a client when the thing that seemed impossible to them all of a sudden seems do-able.

I’ve seen a trend in the online Christian ministry and business space of people being tired of following the “rules” created by experts to build a following and generate income. They crave real connection and ways to be more authentic while still reaching their writing goals.

I love to help them by making connections to build their network and creating partnerships that drive success.

Her Recent Projects & Experience

I’ve been working with writers and speakers for about 10 years. Over that time, the most surprising change I’ve seen is the need for writers to also be marketers and entrepreneurs. Most are not prepared for that, and I think that is where we can help.

Recently, I helped MRM on a website project coaching the client through content creation and marketing copy. It was a rewarding experience, and I enjoyed the process.

Her Education & Training

I have a BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida and have been a project manager in the engineering and construction industry for more than 30 years. I’ve attended She Speaks several times, as well as been a keynote speaker at the ReNEW conference (New England Christian Writers conference).

I led a roundtable at the Refined conference and I’ve also led workshops or roundtables at other Christian writer events.

Some of my mentors include:

  • Lisa Allen
  • Sarah Jacobson
  • Chad Allen
  • Ruthie Gray
  • Kim Stewart
Did you know:
1. That my degree in Chemical Engineering often surprises people!
2. As a child, a neighbor locked me in a dog pen with their old hunting hound to help me get over my fear of dogs. It didn’t work. I’m still terrified of dogs to this day, even the smallest ones!
3. Information is my love language. I’m happiest when I am “in the know” and using that information to make connections and solve problems. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve been called the “glue” on a team, I’d be very wealthy!

claim to fame

My dad was an award-winning sports writer and I was the only 9 year old girl in my school that could name the coaches of all the SEC teams. (He’s also where I get my love for writers!)

  • Our Vision for 2025

One of our team members has coined the phrase “February is the new January” this year, and we are fully embracing that sentiment as we somewhat tardily recap our 2024 year and share where our sights are set for 2025. Between milestone years for many of our families, some health and family challenges and losses, and another year of business and team refining, it’s taken us just a minute to catch our breath as we close out 2024 and look ahead to the new year.
