Hi there! I’m Melissa. My happy place is with my husband, my laptop, my cats, a good book and a great cup of coffee.
I am based in a small town in Georgia. I’m an introverted Jesus girl who thrives on learning new things, and helping others grow their business. I love to help Christian authors, ministry leaders, and small businesses.
Passionate about serving others, I have been a ministry volunteer for many years and serve in leadership roles in various ministries and in my local church. I also lead a Women’s Small Group in our community, as well as serving as a Volunteer Online Bible Study Small Group Team Leader, Graphics Management Volunteer, and Volunteer Services Department Leader for Proverbs 31 Ministries. I have also volunteered temporarily with the Compel Writing Team, and Spanish Translation Team of Proverbs 31 Ministries.
I love to learn new things, and I am not afraid to jump in and get things done. I am very determined in all things.

Her Specialties
I have over 25 years of experience in administration in a corporate setting, and I have been a Virtual Assistant for over 6 years. As the owner of Barnes Administrative Services, I assist authors, ministries, non-profits, and small businesses with their administrative needs, which is how I became a part of the MRM team. My years of experience have allowed me to work in legal, accounting, general business, and ministry services, and there is no task that I won’t try to tackle.
I also love participating in or helping with book launch teams and small editing jobs. I don’t back down from a challenge. I make things happen. If it is something that is new to me, I will learn.

I live my life for Christ, and try to glorify Him in all that I do. I tend to be a quiet, reserved person at first, and then I open up. I enjoy meeting new people. I love coffee!!! I enjoy reading in my down time and spending time with my fur babies.
Her Recent Projects
Being new to MRM, I haven’t yet worked on any client projects directly, but I have had the opportunity to help with MRM’s recent transition back to Freshbooks for invoicing, as well as a few other administrative and project management tasks. I’m looking forward to:
- Helping with content creation or editing when needed
- Overseeing project task lists and reminders
- Assisting Mandy with client communication and general customer service.

Her Education & Training
I earned my Masters Degree in Business Administration from South University. I thought I would be a professional student for a while. I also hold degrees in Office Administration, Accounting, and Paralegal Studies. (Did I mention that I love to learn new things?) I have been trained in Social Media Management and Project Management. And a lot of what I know now has been self-taught as the internet, social media, and websites continue to change.
Some of my mentors include:
- Christa Hutchins
- Lysa Terkeurst
- Katie Orr

1. I tend to not want my clothes to wrinkle. (I am slightly OCD…)
2. I love to sit in silence… even in a coffee shop… because I love coffee.
3. I don’t drive on the interstate. I know that is really weird, but there is a backroad to anywhere and I love it. LOL!
claim to fame
I’ve worked closely with many of the Proverbs 31 Ministries team and love being a part of their ministry!
